A Love Revolution
... as promised
When Lenny Kravitz took the stage at the Metro Center on Sunday night the crowd went nuts, and I was right there with the other 8000 Lenny fans, whooping, yelling and clapping. He opened the show with "Bring it on", and then went right into "Love Revolution". His horn section was kickin' and would make the funk bands from the 70's jealous. He did "Fields of Joy", one of my all time favorites, then went into a long R&B jam session with bits of "The Wall", "Billie Jean", "It Ain't Over til it's Over" - Amazing!
He played many instruments during the night, showing off his skills some times with guitar, then organ, congas, and drums. During "I'll Be Waiting" he sat down at what looked like a clear glass piano. With a spotlight on him he sang the soulful ballad like Hendrix, James Brown and Smokey Robinson all rolled up into one. He did an extended ending that got the audience singing "I'm the one who really loves you baby" over an over again.
He made a very inspiring speech about his first album being written almost 20 years ago, his disappointment on how the worlds problems haven't got any better and asking everyone to start a small "Love Revolution" their own. Then launched in to "Let Love Rule". During the song he jumped in to the crowd, walked around the arena hugging every girl he could, high fiveing guys and getting people into a frenzy. It was excellent, Lenny doing what Lenny does best, spreading the love.
The night ended with "Are You Gonna Go My Way" with the whole place on their feet jumping. Lenny said...."Everyone get up and jump!" and everyone did. It was great! Then just when it seemed like it was over he got behind the drums and treated us to a drum solo/jam with his guitar players.
Lenny Kravitz is a beautiful soul with an amazing talent, and I am so glad I was able to see him live. If he's coming to your city or town, I recommend you go see for yourself.
(My apologies for the poor quality photos... only so much you can do with a little point and shoot)

Thanksgiving Weekend
Ahhhh, what a lovely Thanksgiving weekend I had.
Saturday hubby and I went furniture shopping, we found some nice pieces for the family area, can't wait to get started on that project. Sunday we took a shot to the valley for some colourful fall scenery (see photos below). And finally Monday, we had a tasty Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings - a perfect fall weekend, if you ask me.

Play Along Here
And...here we go!
1. One of the best movies I ever saw that I really didn't think I'd like was Doctor Zhivago.
2. Souvlaki is a recipe I recently made that was delicious!
3. It's time for giving thanks this weekend here in Canada.
4. Water with a twist of lemon or lime is quite refreshing.
5. If I never hear the words betchya, don'tchya, wontchya, can'tchya again, it'll be too soon.
6. To one side of the curving road was a cute cottage in a flowery meadow, and on the other was a rocky cliff that dropped into the sea.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to shopping for new furniture, tomorrow my plans include planning my menu for Thanksgiving dinner and Sunday, I want to head out of the city for a drive with hubby!
Happy Thanksgiving to you all (It's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada)

Have you seen me? I've looked everywhere
"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both. And be one traveler, long I stood, And looked down one as far as I could"...I have been thinking long and hard about what my purpose is now my kids are becoming less and less dependent on me. I feel an insecurity in my gut and have no real sense of direction lately... Seems I have reached a crossroads.
-Robert Frost, The Road Not Taken
Why have not prepared for this?

Friday Fill Ins #92
And...here we go!
1. October is bittersweet.
2. Arachnids scare me!
3. Leaves are falling all around, it's that time of year when the horizon resembles a painting filled with orange, red, brown and gold.
4. My favorite horror movie is Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho because I LOVE Hitchcock movies in general and Psycho had all the elements that make up a great horror flick.
5. Family and friends gathering together = good memories.
6. It was a dark and stormy night; "the rain fell in torrents - except at occasional intervals, when it was checked by a violent gust of wind which swept up the streets (for it is in London that our scene lies), rattling along the housetops, and fiercely agitating the scanty flame of the lamps that struggled against the darkness." - Bulwer-Lytton
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to going to get some paint samples (it's time for a change) , tomorrow my plans include grocery shopping and Sunday, I want to spend the day cleaning and doing some Halloween decorating outside!
have a wonderful weekend friends...

Savouring the Moment
This morning while doing the dishes, looking out my kitchen window I noticed this gorgeous Maple tree with bright red leaves. I grabbed my camera, my cup of tea then headed outside to get a closer look. I sat on a rock sipping my tea, watching the leaves as they danced in the breeze, on occasion one would shake loose and flutter down. The ground around the rock I was sitting on was covered by leaves of all different colours, reds, orange, yellow, brown... I was so caught up in the moment - it was beautiful and yet sad at the same time.

Wordless #12
Visit Wordless Wednesday
The last of my daisies from the garden. The frost got to them over the last couple days and turned most of them brown. I cut them down yesterday and got a few last photos.
