They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul, and that is true of animal as well as man. When you look into the eyes of a friendly dog, it seems to be begging you to play, while if you stare into the eyes of a cat, it looks back with cool indifference. Animals have feelings and personalities just like humans, and if we would only heed our eyes, we'd see how close our worlds really are.

You are strolling through a zoo, watching the animals in their cages. You stop in front of a single monkey in its cage and your eyes meet. The expression is its eyes seems to be communicating something. What is the monkey trying to tell you?

Caged animals are mentally associated with the loss of freedom and restraints placed on our natural instincts by society. And because they are human-like in so many ways, it is particularly easy for us to empathize and identify with the monkeys. The message the monkey was sending corresponds to your true feelings about the restrictions on your freedom. Specifically, they are words you'd like, but are unable, to say about a company, a group or a social system that you feel is running your life. Do any of these answers sound familiar?

"Boy, I'd like a banana". You are easily pleased and, therefore, easily controlled. Hold out for more and you might e surprised at how much you're worth to others. Who knows, you might even get two bananas.

"All right, move along, nothing to see here." It's not the pressure of conforming to society's rules that gets to you so much as it is the lack of privacy. Don't be afraid to go off by yourself to be alone with your thoughts from time to time. You're only a single monkey; the zoo will survive for a while without you.

"I think I'm going crazy in this cage. Get me outta here!" As a licensed Kokologist, i am prescribing you a long vacation on a nice quiet island. Take it!
