Photoshop brushes by moi
Enjoy!

As promised, I am adding some of my Photoshop Brushes for you to download for your own personal use. Some of the brush sets are just spin-offs from the digital collage work I have shown on here before and some are new.

If you use any of them, I would like you to send me a link so I can admire your work and post it on the blog.
Enjoy!

Birthday Week x 3

This week is what is referred to in our house as, "Birthday Week". My two girls and myself all have a birthday a day apart. My youngest daughter's birth date is the 19th, my oldest birth date is the 20th and mine is the 21st... how about that for a busy birthday week! Just imagine how hectic birthday week was when the girls were younger and wanted birthday parties... Now the girls are older, they just pick a day to celebrate our birthdays all together. This year we are celebrating our 17th, 22nd and *whisper* 42nd, with a brunch at our house on Sunday with our closest family members and friends - Can't wait!

In honor of our birthdays, I'm giving away one of my favourite gifts I like to get as well as give.  It's a little goodie package of my favourite bath products from Lush.  Also, who can enjoy a luxurious bath without some delicious smelling candles from Clair de Lune.

If you want a chance to win, all you have to do is leave a comment telling me how you like to celebrate your birthday. All followers of Slightly Off-Center will get a second entry  (just be sure to leave a separate comment for each entry).  I will randomly choose a winner one week from today on November 25th.  Good luck everyone and can't wait to read through all your comments!

(No global restrictions. Must be 18 years or older. Contest winner will be chosen using BuzzMyBlog Contest Winner Picker)

What Am I Craving?

Rolo Pretzel Turtles
Salty pretzel, topped with a gooey chocolate and caramel with a crunchy pecan on top.

What you will need:
Rolo
Mini pretzels
Nuts – toasted pecans (any nut will do)

Preheat your oven to 350
  1. Unwrap your Rolos. Place pretzels on baking sheet. Top with a Rolo.

  2. Bake in oven for 3-5 minutes, just until the chocolate starts to melt. The Rolo should be soft but not completely melted.

  3. Remove from oven and place on cooling rack. Gently push the nut down into the melted Rolo.
These little treats are totally addictive. My girls and I devoured an entire tray in a matter of minutes.
*please proceed with caution*

I made these little treat boxes for the turtle treats. So cute!

DIY Jar Labels

I'm still looking for ways to personalize the new pad, so this week I came up with this idea to design and print labels for jars that I purchased for my bathroom cabinet. They remind me of the jars I remember seeing in the pharmacy and doctor office when I was a wee girl.

I loved them so much that I want to share them with you. I have included these labels and a blank template for you to download and use on your own jars.

Directions:
Download and print labels onto card stock -I used a metallic white cardstock. Cut and past ( I used double sided craft tape) onto glass jars or decorative bottles or vases. Jars and glossy cardstock are from Michaels craft store.

Untitled

Today I am just going through the motions [sigh]. I usually thrive on routine; routine empowers me, it makes me feel like I'm in control somehow... but every now and again I feel like going against the grain, stepping outside my tidy little box. Have you ever felt that way?
Yesterday evening I snapped this photo through the viewfinder of my old pal Brownie. I added some layers and brushes to the shot - gives the photo a moody feel that almost represents my mood today.

Moon River from Breakfast at Tiffany's

I was making some Photoshop brushes of Audrey Hepburn for Miss Priss when this song came to mind. This is one of my favorite scenes from Breakfast at Tiffany's, enjoy!
