Monday Questions

1.  What do you do when you can't sleep at night? Do you toss and turn, count sheep, get up and do   something productive, check your email/facebook/blog?

2.  What is your most unusual morning ritual or night time ritual?

3.  If you had to choose one thing that gives you the most comfort, what would that be?

4.  What are you currently obsessing about?

My Answers:

1.  I usually toss and turn and think about all sorts of weird and wacky stuff:  If the professor could build a radio system out of coconuts, why couldn't he fix a hole in their boat?

2.  At night I count my meds to make sure I haven't forgotten to take one - I really should get one of the medication minders at the pharmacy.

3.  Jammie bottoms or a pair of really comfy jogging pants.

4.  Right now I am obsessing over dust around my house that everyone else in the house claims they cannot see.  My aunt once obsessed over fruit flies that no one else in her house could see. Turned out she had a semi-detached retna and was seeing floaties she thought were fruit flies.  Note to self:  Make eye appointment asap!!

Hey Jack, Happy New Year! Fun questions:

1. I clean out my blog/e-mail which does not often lead me back to sleep so eventually I just put on a pot of coffee.
2. Nothing unusual, I don't think. I know, boring!
3. Having all of my kids home under one roof, I get jittery when they're gone.
4. I am obsessing about getting my schedules all organized for 2010!

Have a great day :)

1. I usually get up and check my online stuff. Or I flick the tv on to something boring that might lull me to sleep...

2. I probably have a lot of unusual things... one thing is that I take my morning shower (at 5:15) in the dark, w/ only a candle or nighlight. Bright lights that early are too jarring.

3. Just the one thing? Aside that knowing my family and loved ones are safe... probably my cozy bed.

4. I'm a little freaked out because I am taking a few grad classes this year and have a lot of work to do...

(which is why I am sneaking reading blogs at work/school)

1. I lay absolutely still and tell each of my body parts to relax, and then concentrate on making them feel that way until I have nothing left but controlling my breathing, and by then I usually nod off. Sometimes I have to do it more than once.
2. I don't really have any unusual rituals, I'm a go with the flow kinda gal. That being said, I'll admit now that I don't usually brush my teeth or wash my face before bedtime, but only in the morning. That, in itself, may make it unusual.
3. A nice warm, fuzzy blanket, my sudoku book, and a lamp.
4. finding a job, for sure, tops my list of current obsessions.

I've had this soap opera going on in my head for 15 years and I play it out when I can't sleep and within minutes, I'm out.

2. What is your most unusual morning ritual or night time ritual?
I weigh myself every morning before getting dressed.

3. If you had to choose one thing that gives you the most comfort, what would that be?
Hearing Eddie Vedder's voice always soothes me.

4. What are you currently obsessing about?
Fashion and home decorating.

3. that huge old woolly jersey

4. now, nothing... my world has finally calmed down after the holiday stress. weeeeeel, maybe the stuff i have to get for the bean for school, but its not at obsession level yet, i do still have time.

The next time I am lying awake at night and can't sleep, I am goinf to think like Jack, and think Gilligan's Island thoughts! :-)
But, instead, when I can't sleep, I toss and turn and moan a little(if I am having bad thoughts), but what will usually get me sleepy once I get back into bed is getting up, and eating a bowl of Cheerios and milk.

2. I don't know that I have ANY unusual morning(put on slippers and robe, make coffee, feed pets, check e-mails) or night rituals(wash face, brush teeth, read in bed, apply chapstick, lights out). So boring, I am...

3. Never sleeping alone--be it husband, kid or dog(or cat), I like a warm body with me--just sleep more soundly that way.

4. nothing today...but yesterday I was obsessing all day about the fact that I had not gotten my period yet(a day later than the norm) and that was a worrying thought for a 47 year old woman! But, all's well today--worried for nothing. Sorry..TMI?
