I'm so, so tired today! My oldest daughter had high fever and headache for the 6th day in a row so I took her to the ER. Doctors took some blood, did a CT Scan and a Lumbar Puncture (fascinating!) and determined she was suffering from Viral Meningitis and not Bacterial Meningitis - thank goodness!
Here is a video of a Lumbar Puncture (not my daughters) if your interested in the procedure.
Now lets get on with the Fill Ins :)
Click the link below to play along.
1. When I heard my daughter would need a lumbar puncture I felt bad for her.
2. Laughter really is the best medicine.
3. It's late, but the ER provides plenty of good entertainment in the wee hours of the morning.
4. The emergency room was slow last night, as always.
5. Doctor My eyes have seen the years. And the slow parade of fears without crying. Now I want to understand. ~ Jackson Browne
6. ER visits should be done on a full stomach and plenty of rest, I emphasize this strongly.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to sleep, tomorrow my plans include more sleep and Sunday, I want to wake up to the sun shining brightly in my window (keeping my fingers crossed)!
Wishing you a well and wonderful weekend my bloggie buddies :)

Poor, poor you and your daughter--having to go through all that! Viral meningitis sounds bad, but I guess it could be worse?? I really don't know the difference, but hope that your daughter is well on her way to good health soon and enjoying the summer as she should be.
May the sun shine brightly for you and your family this weekend.
I am so sorry you had to spend all that time in the ER (you know that I know from ER visits). And I'm more sad to see that photo of your poor sweet girl. She looks pretty sick. I didn't have the guts to look at the video, but it doesn't sound fun at all...
Hope the rest of your weekend is sunny and uneventful.
Awww, poor thing! Hope with the right diagnosis she'll start to feel better :o)
Rest up!
I hope she gets well soon & that your weekend is a sunny one ;-)
I feel so bad for your sweet daughter, I wish for her to feel better with every day.
Could this have been causing herproblems with her heart rythm last week?
You, get some rest
(((hugs)))
ouch! no! i don't wanna see!!! lots of get well wishes to your daughter from me.
I hope she gets well soon. =(
Thanks everyone!
I think I need to put my family on a strict regiment of daily vitamins too boost their immune system. Seems my children aren't taking proper care of themselves these days.
hope she's doing better, and you too. My daughter had a spinal tap once--that was horrid to watch, so I didn't watch the video either.
