A Fun Announcement

I’m so excited to announce that yesterday(February 28) was Slightly Off-Center's 1st Birthday! I really can’t believe that I’ve kept this thing going for an entire year. From my very first post one year ago to my 261 post today—I feel as though I have had quite a journey in the space of a year. I really have learned so much and gained so many new friends, and I'd like to celebrate this milestone with all of you by having a little giveaway ...what better way to celebrate a birthday than with presents!?

So in honour of Slightly Off-Center's one year birthday --I want to give one of my lucky readers something that relates to some of the things I enjoy and have written about in the past... inspiration, dreams, journaling and photography.

{mood board, journal, dream dictionary}
{two 5X7 prints from my Flickr photo stream}

What do you have to do to win? Well, it's pretty simple... all you have to do is leave me a comment and tell me what you would put on your own mood board. You may comment as many times as you would like but your first comment will be your official entry. Make sure you add your email address or if you prefer not to post it, email me your addie, otherwise I will not be able to contact you in the event you have won. There are NO global restriction --everyone is eligible. The contest will go from today--March 1st until March 10th at midnight/EST. I will use random number generator to pick the winner... Good Luck!

Looking forward to a new year and writing a new chapter for Slightly Off-Center. I wanted to thank you all for your continued support; I really do enjoy interacting with you all and love reading all of your comments.

I know it's rare for random.org to choose the number 1, but I just wanted to say I think the mood board is a great idea.

Thing's I'd put on it include one of my favorite maternity pictures and our first family picture after my DD's birth. I'd also include pictures of my favorite knitting to inspire me to makes some of my own designs.

Congratulations on one year, Jack. I'm really happy to have met you in blogland this year.

I have a few bulletin boards - some things that I have on them are photos, favorite pages photocopied from books, ticket stubs to concerts, that sort of stuff.

Great idea to do a contest!

Happy happy blogiversary! I'm so happy you decided to blog a year ago, otherwise I wouldn't have "met" you! And -- my one year is on March 5th! So we're almost bloggy twins!

Hm, mood board. Lovely idea. I would include:
*Photos of my loved peeps
*Cards, post cards from friends
*Inspirational quotes and blessings (such as: "Morning prayer: Whatever; Evening prayer: Oh well.")
*Well-used guitar strings
*Favorite photos I have taken
*My retirement notice
*A photo of Barack and Michelle Obama!
*A picture of Earth to remind me of perspective and to keep me grounded.
*A photo of my paternal grandmother, who I didn't know but who inspires me anyway.
*Probably lots of mementos from trips and shows.

I would need a really big board!

Congratulations on a year!

I'd put pictures of my family, patterns I want to knit, postcards, bits of leaves and bark I've collected, recipes, and quotes from books I like on a mood board.

How wonderful, a year! I'm looking forward to many, many more :)

My board would contain: photos of those who inspire me, personal notes I've received, quotes which move me, and other ephemera that makes me happy.

What a wonderful celebration idea!

I would use this wonderful mood board to showcase some of my most prized possessions. Everything from pictures of the kiddos, made by the kiddos, scraps of leaves the kiddos bring inside for me to keep, I can think of so many things to place on this wonderful board.
Thanks for the giveaway

I would use it to show off fun color combos I find in magazines, the latest inspiring product I picked up and something wonderful that makes me smile every day!

Well, my mood board would have to be about things that make me happy and inspire me. There would have to be a sunflower or two. A few fav photos. Inspirational fortune cookie "fortunes". Anything that would keep me in a positive frame of mind and focused on all of my blessings.

My mood board would include:

A small version of an elephant footprint that I got from a zoo (lucky, instead of a horseshoe), a photo of my son Charlie Chaplin (Halloween), a picture of my Wish sleeping (dog), a newspaper article about the weather featuring Dave (husband) , a feather (to fly away if needed), a button to press to play a song, and a key to my heart.

This is a great giveaway and I absolutely LOVE the idea of a mood board. A few of the things I would put on my board are quotes that inspire me, pictures of the places I go that make me feel calm and peaceful, trinkets that I hold dear in my heart from loved ones who have passed, list of things I want to do (not the type of chores such as write bills but more of the things I want to see)

This is so cool! I would make it the place to put things that are only "mine" - in other words, hopefully no grocery or chore lists! I would tack up random pictures that appealed to me, some quotes, and things that I wanted to memorize.
