Best Picnic Food
.Friday Fill-Ins # 178.

Are you up for some Friday Fill-Ins this week?  Just click the link to play along.

And...here we go!

1. French bread, brie, fresh tomatoes and basil, cold salmon, fresh fruit, lemon tart-lets for desert, Oh and plenty of vino -- the best food to take on a picnic.
2. Summer is... Cut flowers, fresh local produce, lazy days on the beach, a walk in the sun with my camera, picnics and long drives up the shore, treasure hunting, bonfires and lots of family time.
3. I live for summery tees and my comfy flip flops.
4. To love someone is to see a miracle invisible to others - Francois Mauriac
5. Cape Split has breathtaking views but it's a long hike.
6. When I crave food, it's usually home cut chips from a chip truck with loads of vinegar and salt.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to a hot bath and a cup of herbal tea, tomorrow my plans include bathing suit shopping with Baby Girl, putting second coat of paint on the entry door and dinner theater with the frogs and Sunday, I want to go with the flow!

Thank goodness this is the last weekend of the month of May.  During this month I felt slightly lost, my light became very dim and I lost my words -- hope June will be a bit kinder.

Happy Memorial Day weekend to all my American friends.
Wishing you all a weekend filled with sunshine, love, and happiness!

In Limbo

My mind is very cloudy these days. I can only focus on a couple things at a time and my little blog has become very quiet.

I started to write an entry twice this morning, and filled some of the white space in this little post area, before backing it all out not really liking anything I had written.

I have been reading a lot of my favourite blogs but have not been commenting. Same thing, I end up writing something in the comment field and then backing it all out... it's a strange, strange state of mind I am in. I hope I will have something to say soon.

Here is one thing I can share with you all.
It's a little play list I like to call "Candlelight & Riesling"

On nights like tonight

Right now I'm listening to the rain beat a rhythm on my windows. The sound is hypnotic and making me sleepy.

Hubby and I just finished dropping our son off at a friends house where they are leaving on a road trip to Montreal, Quebec. Why must my children torture me this way?

Tonight I have a lot on my mind and I thought that maybe I would come on here and just ramble -- let it all out. But when I sat down to vent all my emotions, feelings, the things that I have stored up inside me... the clouds floated on in and my mind went blank. Perhaps tomorrow I will try again.

Sleep tight, and sweet dreams all!

Tuesday Ten: An Award
Ten things you might not know about me

Made my day to find out that I was awarded the "Kreativ Blogger" award from  fellow Haligonians over at ~Third~Street~Studio~.  Third Street Handcrafters,  are two sisters who create the most adorable dolls.  Please stop by their Etsy Store and check out their handmade creations.  Thank you for the honours Third Street Studio!

Rules that accompany this award are as follows:
Post the award on your blog.  Thank the person who gave you the award.  Link to the person who gave the award.  Share a list of 7 things that you might not know about me.  Choose 7 great bloggers to give the award to.  Leave a comment on their blog telling them they are recipients of the award.
Since this is not my first time receiving this particular award, I am not going to follow all the rules listed.  I have decided to pass this award on to everyone who stops by and reads this blog post; just grab the button and follow the rules listed above.  And instead of "7 things about me", I am going to list 10 things because I am posting this as my Tuesday Ten this week.

So without further adieu...
Here are Ten things you might not know about me:
  1. I love, love, love the smell of dirt.

Signs from the Universe
&
Friday Fill-Ins

The Universe sends me little reminders to my inbox daily.  The timing of today's message was incredible. These thoughts hit way close to home.
"Changing what you have, Jack, comes from changing who you are.
And changing who you are comes from changing what you think.
Which is why I made the latter so easy.

Hey, I think it's Friday...

Weekend update - SIL's Wedding

Greetings, salutations and happy Monday! I hope you all had a grand weekend. Mine was pretty good despite being very busy with my SIL's wedding... Feeling a little tired still today, but happy the wedding ceremony and reception went perfect :) I think hubby and myself both looked smashing and our kids were beautiful as well.

In other related news, the Spanx I purchased to wear under my dress did exactly what the advertisement promised they would do; suck it all in and lift in all the essential places. I was beaming with all the wonderful compliments I was getting throughout the evening.  I recommend them to anyone who wishes to give their physique a little more curves and shape.  I also would like to recommend  Airbrush Legs by Sally Hansen for any gals who haven't had time to tan and wish to go bare legged.  It went on smooth and streak-less and lasted the entire day and night -- I used "Light Glow" because I am fairly fair skinned.
