Visit Wordless Wednesday
Ps. I think it would fun to take weekly walks to the burn zone with my camera so I can document all the re-growth.

Weekly walks to document or chronicle the regrowth would be interesting.
Where do you live? There have been several major fires recently. Just curious.
Wow. That looks severe. I had no idea it was so close to your house... Glad you and your house survived. :)
When I lived in southern California (during the extraordinarily bad fires of '03-'04), we learned that it was terrible only because of over-development and the prevention of forest fires for so long, that so much deadfall had built up... it was an inferno waiting to happen. And now, behind my house in the woods here on the South Shore... same thing is happening. I shudder to think of a fire burning here because, although the forest really needs it, it's gonna be a rough one when it happens. Luckily, there's Evan and myself pulling out deadfall almost on a daily basis for our little cookouts in the backyard... helping out in whatever way we can! ;)
Glad the forest is still full of life. Like Sherry said, it would be nice to see how it comes back over time.
that hurts! i have been told, however, that fires promote new and fresh growth and stuff, but still..... looking forward to seeing the re-growth if you will.
I can imagine I would be heartbroken, too, walking through a landscape like that. (there must be an overwhelming "burnt" smell?)
But I felt better for you that you got that little bit of reassurance that nature still carries on, by seeng and hearing the forest birds. So small and so tough at the same time.
life certainly does go on. a wonderful promise.
happy wednesday.
it's amazingly poetic what damage a fire can do, and what new life it can bring forth.
I think documenting the regrowth is an awesome task for you to undertake.
I would love to see the pictures documenting the regrowth.
lovely observation jack.
from one puddle jumper to another.
A very, very nice post - pictures and words. I would also love to see documentation of the regrowth, I hope you do it!
Wow, haunting.
I'm sure your eye will watch with wonder the healing of the forest around you, I'm looking forward to watching it through your eyes--God Bless!
Indeed, It Goes On" (Life , that is!) So glad you will be wwatching new life renew itself here in this landscaping! Fires are so scary - most people have no idea that damage that can be done in these wildfires - how fast they spread etc. Stay Safe!
